We are focused on creating a community of women, a space to connect, network, build meaningful relationships while supporting one another in our different life journeys.

We are the platform in charge of all gatherings, ensuring you have the opportunity to connect and preserve your relationships.

Women Building Women was first stablished in the city of New York by Eva Lugo in 2021. The group kicked off with a dinner between her and 3 close friends at Beccafino restaurant in Riverdale, N.Y. The community has been growing since then and has expanded to the city of Danbury, Connecticut. The Connecticut chapter is currently being managed by Calda Jacobs.

Meet the Founder of Women Building Women

My name is Eva. I was born in the 90’s in Lorica, Córdoba, Colombia. At age 13 my parents moved our family to the US in search of the American dream. We settled in New York City, the city that has given me more than I could have imagined since moving here.

About me, my character. Eva means “Mother of Life”, so naturally I am nurturing. I consider myself a woman with a golden heart, always looking for ways to make others feel heard while creating a safe space for them to be vulnerable. I am ambitious with a strategic mindset, full of ideas. I am always looking for ways to better myself in all aspects of life. Truly trying to be the best version of myself for me, my family, my friends, and my community.

Currently, I am a Business Analyst by title. A position that has afforded me tremendous opportunities of working on some amazing projects in both the public and private sectors. It’s given me the ability to view things from all directions and provide meaningful insight and direction while also developing my leadership skills.

So how did we get here, womenbuildingwomen_nyc. Well, in the midst of the pandemic I saw the impact it was having and wanted to do something that would help. It was then that I had what I consider my best and brightest idea. An idea that now I realize was actually a calling. Create a community for women. A safe space to connect, network and support each other in life’s journey. This has become a meaningful and fulfilling mission of bringing women together in a community that fosters growth and development with the support of other beautiful women who want to see you shine.

I am overwhelmed at the thought of all the support I’ve already received. I promise, and will happily continue to put in the hard work necessary to farther build this community.
